Sea Rush

Sea rush stems are needle-sharp. The leaves also end in a sharp point. The flower appears on the side of the smooth stem, close to the top. Sometimes, the underground rootstocks are short so that thick clumps form. Other times, the rootstocks are longer and the plants are further apart.
