This species is extremely widely distributed, occurring throughout much of the boreal and temperate zones of the Northern Hemisphere, from Europe east through the Middle East, the Caucasus, Siberia, Kazakhstan and Mongolia to Kamchatka, Primorskye and Sakhalin Island in the Russian Far East, China and Japan and over to North America (Canada and USA).
