Torchwood Family

Herbs, subshrubs or shrubs. Stipules present, persistent. Leaves opposite, rarely alternate, sometimes fleshy, simple, 2-3-foliolate or pinnate. Flowers actinomorphic, bisexual, hypogynous. Sepals (4-)5. Petals (4-)5, rarely 0. Disk usually present. Ovary superior, 4-5-locular.
