Annual to perennial herbs, sometimes shrubby. Leaves simple, entire to coarsely and irregularly dentate. Flowers solitary, axillary. Calyx campanulate, 5-lobed, unwinged, strongly accrescent in fruit. Corolla broadly campanulate to funnel-shaped, shallowly to deeply lobed. Ovary 2-locular.
