Newtonia

Newtonia is a genus of legumes in the subfamily Caesalpinioideae[1] and the Mimosoid clade:[1] or tribe. The genus is known from the early Miocene (22 - 21 Ma) of Ethiopia based on compressions of its diagnostic, winged seeds. [2] Species are:[3] Newtonia aubrevillei (Pellegr.)
