Tree to 25 m. tall, semi-evergreen or deciduous; leaf paripinnate, leaflets in 4−6 pairs; inflorescence brown tomentose; flowers borne on erect racemes, calyx 4-lobed, petals 5, conspicuous, mauve or pink; pod compressed, brown hairy, broadest towards apex, seeds reddish-brown. © Mark Hyde, Bart Wursten and Petra Ballings (licence)
