Perennial herbs or subshrubs. Stipules persistent, fused to the petiole for most of their length, 2-fid. Leaves pinnately 3-foliolate. Inflorescences dense, axillary or terminal with persistent primary and secondary bracts. Flowers ± sessile. Calyx 5-lobed; the lowest longer than the others.
