Medium-sized, evergreen tree. Bark distinctive and rough; young branchlets densely covered in whitish, woolly hairs. Leaves opposite with pairs clearly set at right angles, ovate to heart-shaped, green to blue-green above, covered in dense white woolly hairs below; margin entire.
