Umbrella Milkwort

Annual or perennial herbs, usually scapose. Leaves (in ours) almost entirely basal, entire to dentate. Capitula in lax cymes or panicles. Receptacular scales 0 but fimbriate alveoli present. Phyllaries in 2-3 series. Ligules yellow, drying greenish. Achenes obconic, glabrous, finely ribbed; apex truncate, not narrowed or beaked.
